Every Goldfish Size is Different

Goldfish come in many different shapes, sizes and colors. The average goldfish size is given but you should remember that if you take good care and treat them right they may grow to be above average sizes. The most common type of food for all breeds of goldfish is goldfish flakes.

Common Goldfish

• Usually a gold color but also can include brown, yellow, silver and mixed.
• The average goldfish size is 8in long but if given adequate room and care it could grow to be longer.
• You should keep the temperature of the water in between 33 and 68 degrees.

Comet Goldfish

• This fish has the same coloration as the common gold fish.
• If given the right amount of space it could grow to be long but still smaller than the common goldfish size.
• The temperature range for this type of gold-fish is 46-68 degrees.

Fan-Tail Goldfish

• This fish is a slow swimmer and this is probably due to the round egg shaped body.
• Being one of the smaller of the goldfish it grows up to 4in long.
• Not only should the water temperature be between 46-68 degrees, the water also has to be very clean.

Oranda

• This fishes colors range from orange to red and maybe some white.
• The full size of this fish is about 5in long.
• Once at adult age, it grows a "roof" over their heads,
• The normal water temperature should be between 46-48 degrees.

Lion head Fish

• This is a very stout fish with gold to yellow colors.
• The lion head is a very unique fish because it has no dorsal fin.
• The average size is 5in.
• The temperature range is 46-71degrees and the water should be kept immaculate.

Veil-tail

• As its name suggests, this fish has a long flowing tail.
• Its most common color is gold but can also be found in white and silver.
• The water should be clean and kept at about 46-68 degrees.
